10 km Panagia to Sinti - Roudias medieval bridge Walk (each way)
This is a beautiful walk in the Xeros Potamos Valley connecting Roudias medieval bridge and Panagia tou Sinti Monastery.
The walk crosses the river a few times, and one needs to be careful, especially between January and April when there may be significant water flow. This is possibly the best walk on its kind in Cyprus, combining open space, biodiversity, tranquility and absence of human presence together with rich examples of Cyprus cultural heritage. The walk is about 10 km long and also passes close to Ais Yiannis cliffs. Walkers may be lucky to spot griffon vultures (some still nest at the cliffs), once common in Cyprus but now a rare species on the island.
Usually the walk starts at beautiful Panayia tou Sinti monastery (the most downstream point of the route) and continues upstream past a few watermills (including Malounta, Laouthkion, Milouin), various rock formations (besides the cliffs) and into the edge of Paphos Forest. Medieval Roudias bridge is the usual end point of the linear walk. As the walk is remote, transportation logistics are very important. Returning to the starting point on foot is quite doable for many people. We have other versions of the walk that connect Roudias bridge to Ais Yiannis village, Kelephos medieval Venetian bridge or Pano Panayia village.
