14.5 km Paphos Forest Deep - Walk to Vrodisia
This is a walk for those who want to experience the expansive Paphos Forest in all its glory. The route is on a dirt road mostly next to a stream, in a pine forest, and offers incredible views of the forest, the surrounding hills and rock formations. There is no sight of villages on this route, just the green, brown and blue of Paphos Forest. The route is linear, about 14.5 km long (ie a bit over 7 km each way). It has a modest inclination, with total ascent and total descent of 1,000 m each. The route reaches Vrodisia village (it now exists only as a forest clearing), a good spot for a picnic. Lucky walkers may spot the elusive Cyprus moufflon. The walk is great as a full day excursion as well as a two-day expedition that includes overnight camping (no fire allowed) deep in Paphos Forest and away from human intervention, an unforgettable experience.
Cyprus Walks Etc offers customisable guided walking trips to Vrodisia village. The route is great year round, especially during late winter and early spring, when usually there is water in the stream, for its vistas, the particular rock formations and the serenity of the deep forest. We do not recommend a walk here during July and August. You are welcomed to book with us.
