Akamas Panorama - from Droushia to Baths of Aphrodite -  21 km walking route

This is probably the ultimate walking route for those who want to see on the same day, much of the beautiful Akamas peninsula.  It traverses the ridge of the peninsula and provides travellers with glorious vistas both of the west (Lara) coast and the north (east) coast (Bay of Chrysochou). The walk starts at the village of Droushia, at an elevation of around 600 meters  and goes north, all the way to the coast.  It is found in a pristine, almost untouched by man, rich in biodiversity  area of Cyprus. Walkers may see many different plant species, many of them in bloom from February to May.  The high point of the walk is probably a stop at Moutti Tis Sotiras peak, close to the north coast, from where the views are breathtaking. Walkers also pass by an abandoned monastery.   The walk is finishes at Baths of Aphrodite cave.

We recommend this walk outside summer, when temperatures would be excessively high for many travellers.

We do present two other walking routes in the area, for those who want to do shorter walks (please see the 10 km Aphrodite-Adonis combo walk). Especially during summer, we recommend an even shorter walk: Aphrodite trail, which is 7.5 km long and can be walked in summer relatively comfortably, provided one starts early.

Cyprus Walks Etc offers customisable guided walking trips focused on the 'Akamas Panorama' walking route. We also offer self-guided walking trips, from a number of nearby villages and from Paphos, that mainly include GPS information about the routes and relevant transportation. The route is excellent year round, especially for its vistas. During the hot season we advise instead to do the combo of Adonis and Aphrodite trail that we offer (and start early).
