This is a self-guided 8.5 km walk (2.5 - 3.5 hours - without breaks) in beautiful Cape Greko park ending at Konnos beach. Pickup times: 9:00 (7:00 in summer) in Larnaca - because of good public bus connections no return taxi is included (Bus 102 to stop 40100 and Intercity Ayia Napa to Larnaca). More info This easy coastal walking route is found inside the tiny (4 sq.km.) national park of Cape Greko. Cape Greko park is located between the bustling beach resorts of Ayia Napa and Protaras. The limestone coastline has a number of caves and rock formations (eg Cape Greko Sea Caves, Kamara tou Koraka, Cyclop's cave and more. This 8.5 kilometer linear walk connects Konnos beach at the northern tip of Cape Greko park with Cape Greko Sea Caves, in the south west border of the walk. The itinerary (a stretch of it is on Aphrodite trail) goes by all the major attractions in the area including the Agioi Anargyroi chapel (and adjacent cave). At some point it ascends the Cape Greko rock, a place with magnificent panoramic views of the coast. Cape Greko park is a good destination also for birdwatchers, especially during spring migration. The waters are usually very calm on the east side. In the hot season sea turtles visit the area to feed. In older times the Mediterranean monk seal was also around - now a few individuals are spotted here sporadically. Besides self-guided and guided walking trips in the area, we provide guided snorkeling, guided kayaking and multi-activity guided trips in the area. We also promote a 12 km circular walk that starts and ends at Konnos beach. In hot summer, the 8.5 km version is more suitable, especially as it passes by the same attractions. What to take Water is a must. Good shoes (with grip) for walking are necessary, probably some food for a picnic. A towel if the travellers will swim.
