Cyprus Self-Guided Walking Adventures
Cyprus Walks Etc offers multi-day self-guided walking exploration throughout the beautiful island of Cyprus.
All the programs are highly recommended for autumn and spring, when the climate of Cyprus is milder, without high temperates and away from potential snowfalls on high altitudes, or significant rainfalls.
Some of the programs can be lovely options also for winter, eg at lower altitude near Akamas, as average maximum day temperatures remain above 15 degrees Celsius in winter (usually it is sunny, which means that it feels a lot warmer).
Some of the programs can be cool escapes in summer (on Troodos mountains, at elevations between 1,000 and 2,000 meters, since maximum average day temperatures remain in the twenties Celsius) especially if one does the short options of the walks and starts early during the day.
Besides information on walking routes and ground support, our programs usually include accommodation, transportation as needed (such as from and to one of the Cyprus airports) and breakfast (with options to include dinner in some packages). A number of packages include options for long or short walks on the same day.
Our programs are designed by Phivos Ioannides, our founder and manager. They focus on Troodos mountains and Akamas. We offer packages that include from three overnights (two day walks) to a week. The weeklong programs include as a rule accommodation in either two or three locations.
A few of the adventures are fine for summer despite the heat, provided one walks early in the morning or later in the afternoon. These adventures were designed with summer heat in mind and also for explorers who prefer shorter walking experiences.
Ratings (symbols) for walks and for walking trips
For our walking adventures (and also for each day of the walking program), we provide a number of inhouse produced ratings, to make the selection by interested explorers easier: 1) Average Expected duration for the walk, 2) Average Steepness for the Ascent, 3) Average Steepness for the Descent, 4) Average time in a taxi.

So Many choices!! - talk to us for assistance
The trips were composed by Phivos, our founder and manager, a professional with decades of experience in walking trips in Cyprus and the author of popular travel books on Cyprus. He is the one evaluating a number of routes as being in the Top5 walks in Cyprus.
We use four places for accommodation in these packages:
1) Kakopetria, for 3 of the Top5 Cyprus walks on Troodos
2) Pano Plates, for the south slope of Troodos, including the Cyprus Top5 Artemis trail, waterfalls and a vineyard walk ending at a picturesque village
3) Droushia, for exploration of the Laona Plateau (dotted with stone-built villages) + Cyprus Top5 Aphrodite trail in Akamas
4) The coast east of Akamas, for walks in beautiful Akamas including Cyprus Top5 Aphrodite trail
Using these four accommodations we compose a number of different packages, that would suite different preferences and profiles (eg, if one is only interested in Akamas, it makes sense to book the Pure Akamas package - and of course we can arrange extra overnights if requested).
We also have packages using other accommodations (eg in Lysos village, in Kalopanayiotis village, which we can discuss based on travellers interest).
There is extensive description of the packages in the respective pages. At the same time we invite you to contact us via whatsapp if you would like assistance in choosing the right package for you.
It should be noted that for packages that include overnights in the area of Laona or Akamas, the taxi ride fare from and to Larnaca airport is significant.

Note on the ratings
One should use the above rating system with caution. The expected duration of the walks is an estimate and doesnot include breaks. Also, people have different walking styles so it doesnot mean that the rating as accurate for everyone. Furthermore, for the steepness rating, it should be clear that these present averages for the collection of the whole routes. It is very possible that there are specific stretches in any of the routes that are considerably steeper ascents or descents compared with the averages.
