Artemis trail

Service Description

This is a walking trip, usually a combo between Artemis trail and Myllomeris Waterfalls trail, depending on travelers’ preferences, conditions and time availability. In winter Artemis may be snowcovered, so we would recommend Madari circular trail instead. Meeting/Pickup time: 9:15 at Troodos Square, Protaras, Ayia Napa, Kalopanayiotis, Pano Platres, etc . In summer we start at 08:00 and only walk the Artemis trail. More info The Walks: Artemis trail (8 km, flat and easy) is the highest elevation trail in Cyprus, and has largely unique flora. It is barren on many stretches and characterised by black pines and endemic Troodos junipers. When it is clear it offers excellent vistas to many parts of the island and to coasts from Limassol to Morphou bay. Myllomeris Waterfalls Trail (1.2 km each way, rather easy ) at an elevation of up to 1,000 m, offers a radically different environment. It has typical vegetation of Cyprus valleys such as alder trees, bracken, maple, golden oaks, strawberry trees, storax and plane trees with impressive roots. At 11 meters, Myllomeris Waterfalls is the tallest in Cyprus, and probably the most scenic. There is a small natural pool in front of the waterfall. A few visitors take a dip, even outside summer when the water temperature is rather cold. The combination of the two trails offers a rich experience over a considerable elevation range in Cyprus. Transportation: None is included in the price. At the same time the guide can give a free ride. The car has a usual private insurance. Guiding time starts when the travellers meet the guide.
