Self-Guided Walking Trips from Larnaca

Larnaca is the third biggest city in Cyprus with about 60,000 inhabitants, found on the south coast, between Ayia Napa and Limassol. It is next to the biggest international airport on the island (it takes upto to twenty minures to drive between the airport and any of the main hotels of Larnaca). Larnaca is laid back, with not too much traffic, it is rather flat and sits just on the east side of a system of salt lakes that are home to many thousands of flamingos, which stay here over winter. Larnaca has important cultural attractions, including the medieval Saint Lazarus cathedral, the nearby fort, an old quarter, and historic churches in the vicinity (as well as a well-preserved stretch of a medieval aqueduct). While we do recommend a walk at the main salt lake of Larnaka, we encourage explorers to go further from the city if they want to walk in beautiful natural settings. We offer self-guided walking trips from Larnaca, some of which could be fine to do even during hot summer, provided travellers start early. For the trips, we supply travellers with relevant GPS files as well and  taxi/minibus rides (where public transport makes sense, we only provide one way private transfers).
