Kantara Castle Walk
This circular walk is nearly ten km long and relatively flat. It goes around the peak of Kantara castle and provides an option to extend it towards the east on a linear walking route. It offers pretty views of the north (west) coast of Karpasia, nearby peaks and of the south coast all the way to Cape Greko, and of eastern Mesaoria plain. The vegetation is dominated by pine and cypress trees (wild olives, strawberry trees and many mastic bushes can also be seen on the walk). An advantage of the specific walk that adds variety to the walking experience is that it combines views both from the north slope of Pentadactylos as well as from the south (unlike many of the other Pentadactylos routes). Besides a must do visit to Kantara castle, one of the three imposing medieval military constructions on Pentadactylos mountain range, the walk can be easily combined with a visit to one of the (derelict) monasteries/chapels in the area.
